A graduate of Fordham University and SUNY Optometry with awards in primary care and contact lenses, Dr. de Junco started a practice in Clinton, NJ and worked as an assistant clinical professor at SUNY Optometry in the pediatrics department, where she taught interns and examined the underprivileged children in Astoria & Washington Heights. Upon relocating to Long Island and starting a family of her own, she practiced in Great Neck alongside Steve Derkatch for 19 years, where she specialized in hard-to-fit contact lens patients and sports vision.

More recently, she had worked with ophthalmologists in Manhattan and Long Island and in private practice in Throggs Neck, where she has developed a comprehensive dry eye evaluation and treatment program.

Dr. de Junco has been an avid athlete her whole life. She received a tennis scholarship to Fordham University, was a regional soccer coach for Long Island Junior Soccer, and is now a golfer. She brings her athletic experience to her eye exams to best match your visual needs to your sport with glasses and/or contact lenses, as well as nutritional support.
